The Fake Mars Where NASA Tests Its Rovers

Years of work goes into building a rover capable of traversing other worlds. But you can't really test out how it drives until it gets there, right? Not quite.

For practice on the Curiosity Rover currently piloting around Mars, NASA built a recreation of the Red Planet for testing. Tom Scott got to take a look at the Mars Yard.

Oh, so this is the fake Mars in Southern California. This wouldn't be the "real" Mars we are shown by NASA on those Mars missions??? Is this revelation of the method, right in front of our faces here? Mockery?
